Indications |
Oral Gastro-oesophageal reflux disease, Irritable bowel syndrome, Dyspepsia Adult: 25 mg tid. Elderly: Dose reductions may be necessary. Special Populations: Lower initial doses have been recommended in elderly patients, subsequently adjusted as required. Dosage adjustment is also advised in patients with renal impairment. |
Contraindications |
Phaeochromocytoma, epilepsy, manic states, hyperprolactinaemia, mammary dysplasia, malignant mastopathies, cardiac impairment. GI bleeding, mechanical obstruction or perforation. |
Warnings / Precautions |
May impair ability to drive or operate machinery. Pregnancy and lactation. |
Adverse Reactions |
Amenorrhoea, gynaecomastia, galactorrhoea, changes in libido. Potentially Fatal: Neuroleptic malignant syndrome. |
Drug Interactions |
Reduced bioavailability with sucralfate, aluminium- and magnesium-containing antacids. Effect on GI motility may be antagonised by anticholinergic agents, narcotics and analgesics. Avoid alcohol. See Below for More levosulpiride Drug Interactions |
Mechanism of Actions |
Levosulpiride is a substituted benzamide, which exerts antidopaminergic (selective dopamine D2 receptors) activity on both central and peripheral levels. It is an atypical neuroleptic and a prokinetic agent. Absorption: Oral bioavailability is about 30%; peak plasma concentrations after about 3 hr. Excretion: Mainly via urine. Plasma half-life: 9.7 hr (oral); 4.3 hr (IV). |

i have completed m.pharma project on LEVOSULPIRIDE 75mg(sustain release tablets) .that reduse tid 25mg that admistrade only one time 75mg so is best reduse side effect…….
