Methadone: MAO Inhibitors may enhance the adverse/toxic effect of Methadone. |
Management |
Initial safety testing, where small incremental doses of methadone are given with the patient closely monitored (including vitals, etc.), is recommended if methadone is to be used with (or within 14 days of) an MAO inhibitor. Avoid transdermal selegiline. |
