Mechanism |
Felbamate: Fosphenytoin may decrease the serum concentration of Felbamate. Felbamate may increase the serum concentration of Fosphenytoin. |
Management |
Decreased phenytoin dose will likely be needed when adding felbamate; some reports suggest an empiric 20% decrease in phenytoin dose. Additional reductions may be needed if felbamate dose is increased or as otherwise guided by monitoring. |
