HMG-CoA Reductase Inhibitors: Cyproterone may increase the serum concentration of HMG-CoA Reductase Inhibitors. |
Management |
Avoid use of statins metabolized by CYP3A4 (eg, simvastatin) and consider avoiding fluvastatin as well in patients receiving high dose cyproterone (300 mg/day). Consider use of pravastatin, rosuvastatin, or pitavastatin if statin therapy is needed. Exceptions: Pitavastatin; Pravastatin; Rosuvastatin. |
