Oral Hypertension, Angina pectoris Adult: 200-400 mg once daily.
Special Populations: Renal impairment: CrCl: 15-40 mL/min: ½ the usual dose; <15 mL/min: Do not administer celiprolol. |

Contraindications |
Hypersensitivity, sinus bradycardia, >1st degree heart block, cardiogenic shock, uncompensated heart failure, hypotensive patients. Pregnancy (2nd and 3rd trimesters). | ||||||

Adverse Reactions |
Nausea, abdominal discomfort, diarrhoea; CHF, AV nodal block and bradycardia, palpitations; headache, fatigue, dizziness, insomnia; Raynaud's phenomenon; orthostatic hypotension; bronchial obstruction; tremor, rash, muscle cramps; impotence. | ||||||
Drug Interactions |

Increases thyroid function test. | ||||||
Mechanism of Actions |
Celiprolol is cardioselective, β-1 antagonist with weak α2-receptor blocking activity. It exhibits an intrinsic sympathomimetic activity. Absorption: Absorbed from the GIT (oral). Distribution: Crosses the placenta. Metabolism: Minimal metabolism. Excretion: Via urine and faeces (as unchanged); 5-6 hrs (elimination half-life). |

Should be taken on an empty stomach. (Take at least ½ hr before or 2 hr after meals.) |
