Cefetamet

Indications
Oral
Ear, nose and/or throat infections, Otitis media, Sinusitis, Pharyngo tonsillitis, Lower respiratory tract infections, Acute bacterial exacerbation of chronic bronchitis, Tracheobronchitis, Pneumonia, Urinary tract infections, Gonococcal urethritis in men
Adult: 500 mg bid.
Contraindications
Known hypersensitivity to cephalosporins.
Warnings / Precautions
Hypersensitivity to penicillins. Renal insufficiency; lactation.
Adverse Reactions
Diarrhoea, nausea, vomiting, hypersensitivity reactions.
Mechanism of Actions
Cefetamet is a 3rd generation cephalosporin. It inhibits the final transpeptidation step of peptidoglycan synthesis in the bacterial cell wall by binding to one or more of the penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs).
Storage Conditions
Oral: Store at 25°C.
