Corect suppositories offers advantages compared to conventional creams
i) Easier to use- Corect suppositories are easy to administer, can be easily pushed inside the rectum whereas the creams have to be applied with a plastic applicator which is hard/ long/ pointed and can often cause more pain.
ii) More effective- Suppositories ensure that the drug reaches the site of action, whereas in creams due to fear of pain either applicator is not used at all or it is not properly inserted and as a result the drug does not reach the site of action.
iii) Accuracy of dosage- Corect ensures complete administration of the drug, whereas in creams one does not know how much of the drug is administered, also the nozzle of the applicator may get blocked.
iv) No wastage- Corect ensures there is no wastage of the drug, whereas in creams the amount of drug that is retained in the applicator has to be washed away.

Dose: One suppository in the rectum at morning and night. Suppository should be moistened with water before inserting.
Composition: Each suppository contains: Hydrocortisone Acetate I.P.0.25% w/w, Lidocaine B.P. 3.00% w/w, Zinc Oxide I.P. 5.00% w/w, Allantoin B.P. 0.50% w/w.
Indications: Corect is indicated for pain and bleeding associated with anal fissures and haemorrhoids.
Packing: Strip of 5 suppositories.
