Indications |
Oral Mucolytic Adult: Initially, 750 mg tid, then 1.5 g daily in divided doses. Child: 2-5 yr: 62.5-125 mg 4 times daily; 6-12 yr: 250 mg tid. |
Contraindications |
Active peptic ulceration. |

History of peptic ulceration. |
Adverse Reactions |
Nausea, gastric discomfort, GI bleeding, skin rash. |
Mechanism of Actions |
Carbocisteine is a mucolytic. Absorption: Rapidly and well absorbed from the GI tract after oral admin. Distribution: Penetrates into lung tissue and respiratory mucus. Excretion: Excreted in the urine as unchanged drug and metabolites. |

Should be taken with food. |
